In a few words

In the last decade, Sylvain Debaisieux has become an essential saxophonist on the Belgian contemporary jazz scene. He has toured extensively with Pentadox, Stéphane Galland, and many other renowned artists. Currently co-leading the project Macondo Trio alongside Beninese drummer Angelo Moustapha—with recent tours in Benin and Belgium, and upcoming dates in France—he is also the leader of a new trio featuring rising Portuguese musicians Zé Almeida and Diogo Alexandre.
Sylvain Debaisieux currently lives between Brussels and Paris, constantly driven by new collaborations with the avant-garde and contemporary jazz scene in Europe. 
Having studied in Brussels and New York, he was awarded by the Fondation Horlait-Dapsens in 2016 and was an artist-in-residence at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris in 2023.
